Hommage to Hannah Höch

I embraced the challenge of creating my first object,
at the invitation of Ellen Maurer-Zilioli
for the traveling exhibition Gone Astray / Auf Abwegen.

I started from where I was at the moment and
the thoughts that preoccupied
my recent artistic research.
The work corresponds to the life of the artist Hannah Höch ;
to the way she lived and created
in dialogue with the society of her time.
My piece takes as its point of departure
her painting The Bride/Pandora (1924-27),
in which societal expectations and preconceptions
seem to float in the air,
only to be funneled into the female vessel-head-body.
